Ashley Lorenzo is a visual artist and a yoga teacher. Her unique self-expression and creative abilities allow her to seamlessly integrate both of these practices into one another. Her yoga classes combine both the physical and spiritual aspects of the yoga tradition. She employs the practice of meditation and breath work to bring attention to the power of visualization and intention. By teaching how to create space and awareness in the physical body, she hopes to create a movement towards self-growth, empowerment, and healing. Like her teachings, her paintings move from an imagined idea, followed next by the physical application to a complete and unified work that conveys feeling, purpose, and passion.
She has studied with Kathryn Budig and Gina Caputo, earning a 200 hour Integrated-Vinyasa yoga certification in 2014. Besides this training, she has also attended retreats with Seane Corn and participated in her activist work, Off the Mat Into the World. Most recently, she has furthered her education online with Christina Sell, and has attended workshops with Annie Carpenter, Seane Corn, Kathryn Budig , Rolf Gates, Gary Kraftsow and Vinnie Marino She is currently pursuing her 500 HR SmartFLOW yoga training with Annie Carpenter.
In addition to her yoga education, she attained a BFA in Painting with an Art History minor from the University of Georgia in 2013. Today, she is currently continuing her Fine Arts education with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). This time she is pursuing a certificate program in Graphic Design and Digital Publishing. Her portfolio and recent work can be viewed here.
She is grateful for the opportunity to share her love for art and the ancient practice of yoga in Georgia and surrounding areas.
A special thank you to Debi Garrett and Five Points Yoga of Athens, Georgia for introducing me to my love for the practice, Kathryn Budig for being an exquisite example of embodying yoga, Gina Caputo for her unyielding love for nature and authenticity, Annie Carpenter for her infectious passion for the practice and both my friends and family for their continuous love, support, and teachings.
