Push Versus Pull

Push Versus Pull
One life on this Earth is all that we get, whether it is enough or not enough, and the obvious conclusion would seem to be that at the very least we are fools if we do not live it as fully and bravely and beautifully as we can.
— Frederick Buechner

What's the difference between being pushed and being pulled? There are many occurrences throughout our life where we are pushed to be somewhere or to do something. There are many obligations to fill, but what if those everyday to-do lists were taken away? Bring to mind an activity that has this magnetic quality. What are the passions and dreams that draws us in? Perhaps, it is to find the best in others, to appreciate beauty more, to give back to the community or to just leave the world a better place, whether that is through the work that we do or through the love that we give.

While the answer varies for each of us individually, it is imperative that we resolve to be pulled in by that something in the world. This is to have succeeded. There are days where we will inevitably lack faith or we’re more fatigued, but each day is our own. If we live each of them fully and determine to let ourselves be pulled by our dreams, it is stronger than any self-doubt.

Our life is our own. Each day is an opportunity to create the life that we want. We are responsible for the quality of our existence, and we can determine to be something in the world when we let ourselves be pulled in. When we work towards our calling that is the day our lives will truly begin.
