Precious Life

Precious Life

Tell me, what is it that you plan to do with this one wild and precious life?
— Mary Oliver

The words of the poet, Mary Oliver, asks us to bring our individual energy, love and passion to everything that we do.

It is our actions and the way we present ourselves to the world that make the greatest difference. Our words mean very little. It is the examples that we set and our interactions with others that create lasting change and leave the greatest impression on the world and those who we affect on a personal level.

As far as we can imagine, we can also look within to find that there is an infinite supply of love and possibilities within our own heart. Within these possibilities lies the power to create a ripple effect of change and to spread goodness and love into the world. When we love from our heart, we are living from our spirit. In doing so, we are living fully in this precious life and earthly existence.

So, may our lives be a statement of love and compassion, and where it isn’t this is where our individual works lies.

Find guidance in reflecting upon where your work lies and how would you like people to remember you and what impression would you like to leave behind? What do you plan to do with your precious life?

May we pay special attention to each moment, knowing that every small action and breath contributes significantly to the future. Let us cultivate the awareness to take each moment and experience to learn and grow towards a move vibrant, compassionate and loving state.

I would like my life to be a statement of love and compassion—and where it isn’t, that’s where my work lies.
