Let More Light In

Let More Light In

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the place you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.
— John Wesley

The passing of the Spring Equinox and the official start of spring reminds us to let more light in.

We are entering the time of year when days become longer. Each passing day is filled with a little more sunshine and brightness. There is often a direct association and connection between goodness and light. Often they are referred to as one and the same.

So, what does letting more light in mean and how can we do this on a daily basis? How can we let goodness infiltrate our own lives, and simultaneously reflect that light and goodness to others through our actions and relationships?

Doing our best and transmitting goodness as an expression of our love for life— is the path that leads toward a long and fulfilling existence. It draws us closer and closer to that light, perhaps even becoming a beacon of that light ourselves. By acknowledging the good that we have to offer and by bringing that goodness into existence a little more each day, we surrender the parts of ourselves that expect rewards and replace them with love.

When we return to love, we return to that beauty that we seek. An awareness begins to dawn. Separation dissolves. Goodness becomes light, light become loves, beauty becomes our thoughts, thoughts become our actions, and these actions make up the goodness and light that we offer into the world. Each day, each interaction, each act of goodness and every relationship allows more light to come in. Each day is filled with a little more brightness.

We have the opportunity to bring that light in.
