Connect To Your Purpose
Bring to mind what makes you happy. Think of something you do that truly makes your heart sing. What is your unique gift that you offer to the world? Listen in.
Your response to this listening in is your dharma. Dharma is a Sanskrit word that refers to your purpose and the work that you are meant to do in this lifetime. Every person has a different dharma, a unique gift to share. Anything that has ever pleased your heart can be your guide. What nourishes your heart might also bring nourishment and care to others. To connect with our purpose fully, we must listen to that voice within that guides us toward our intended work.
Often our purpose is closely linked to our greatest desire. The word desire itself comes from the Latin word De Sire which means "from the stars." Consider your desires to be like an ethereal gift from the heavens. To follow your desire is to follow your own personal star.
Connect with this inner knowing and trust in your calling. Instead of doubting yourself, commit to your inner vision. You won’t be able to step into your purpose if you remain in a place of fear. Be present to what you have and be open to the teaching moments in life that help you to evolve. Trust your intuition and allow your heart to be your greatest guide. Know that the moments that make you smile and your heart beat are a reminder that you are truly alive.
Have faith that your conviction will bring you closer to fulfilling your highest dharma. Commit to the work that you must do to connect with your purpose. Your dharma is what makes you you. It yearns for your commitment, your individual expression and your continual evolvement in order to fulfill your highest calling.
